On 26.11.2024, a seminar on “Empowering students about Entrepreneurial Opportunities through Online Marketing” was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of MCA. The session was handled by F. Grace Ashmi, Proprietor, Charlin Pearlin Art & Craft, Madurai from 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM. 40 students and 2 faculties participated. This event was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Lourdes Poobala Rayen, EDC Director.
The program started with the welcome address by Mrs. D. Angeline Ranjithamani, HOD, Department of MCA, Francis Xavier Engineering College and introduced the speaker. The seminar began with an overview of online marketing, covering the difference between traditional and online marketing. The major components such as Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Social Media Marketing (SMM), Email Marketing, Content Marketing were also discussed. Speaker explained how rapid technological evolution and entrepreneurship has become more dynamic and competitive than ever. With the exponential growth of internet penetration and e-commerce, online marketing has become a pivotal tool for budding entrepreneurs to expand their reach and impact. The benefits of the seminar include, how to explore the different digital platforms and strategies for promoting businesses online, to provide hands-on insights into creating an entrepreneurial mindset, to highlight success stories of entrepreneurs leveraging online marketing. The speaker explained the benefits of platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok for brand building, E-commerce websites such as Amazon, Etsy, and Shopify for selling products and Google Ads and Analytics for targeted advertisements and performance tracking.
The seminar successfully equipped students with knowledge and motivation to explore entrepreneurial opportunities through online marketing. It emphasized that the digital landscape offers vast potential for innovation and growth, making it a promising pathway for aspiring entrepreneurs. She also asked the students to Stay updated on industry trends through blogs, podcasts, and webinars and create a Network with experienced entrepreneurs and marketers to learn and seek mentorship. The interaction between the students and the guest speaker was highly motivating to all the participants. Session came to an end with the feedback of Students.
