On 14th Nov. 2022 an expert talk on “Growing and Rewarding Agripreneurship” was organized by Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Department of Master of Business Administration. The Session was handled by Mr.P.Velmurugan, Scientist (Horticulture), ICAR SCAD KVK, Thoothukudi from 10.00AM – 12.00 noon. 88 students and 1 staff members participated in the program.
The resource person explained the evil effects of using chemical fertilizer and pesticides and the dangers of using the food produced using the chemical fertilizer and pesticides. Because of the use of chemical fertilizer and pesticides the land becomes infertile and creating problems for the farmers. Now there is a change in the mind set of the farmers and they are started using the organic fertilizers and pesticides. Because of this change in the mindset the demand for the organic food has increased tremendously. Youngsters are entering in the agribusiness and started earning the expected income.
This session created awareness among the students and also gave an idea on the future scope in this field. The session was informative and thought provoking and benefitted all the students and staff attended the session.
