On 09.11.2024 to celebrate National Entrepreneurship Day a session was organized on the title “Journey to success: Inspiring Stories from Innovator” by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC in association with the Electronics and Communication Engineering department. The session was handled by Mr Jey Siddharth, Founder & COE of HELEYON Technologies, Final Year - Dept of CSE, Francis Xavier Engineering College. 57 students and 2 faculties participated in the program. This event was coordinated by Dr. R Prem Ananth, IIC Convener, IIC Innovation Ambassador for "Design thinking & Innovations", Assistant professor, Francis Xavier Engineering College.
The guest speaker being the startup founder opened his session by sharing his personal experience as an intern with V.Dart, a leading IT services provider. The internship, which he secured through persistent networking and strategic communication which provided him with hands-on industry exposure. He recounted his initial enthusiasm for frontend development and how his dedication eventually earned him a role in significant projects. Working closely with experienced professionals allowed him to observe how real-world applications are designed, developed, and marketed. He was quick to emphasize the value of internships, describing how they bridge theoretical learning with practical skills essential in today’s competitive world.
His work in frontend development revealed a gap in the market for innovative, customer-centric solutions, sparking the idea to create his own startup. Mr. Siddharth shared with the students that this was the pivotal moment when he decided to launch HELEYON Technologies, which now specializes in frontend solutions tailored to modern business needs. He emphasized the importance of building a strong foundation in one’s area of interest and gradually transforming those skills into a sustainable business. This approach not only helped him gain clients but also instilled trust, ultimately paving the way for HELEYON’s initial success. He urged students to take calculated risks and begin small. Small projects, he explained, are stepping stones to larger business ventures, as they allow budding entrepreneurs to build networks and cultivate valuable business contacts. These connections are essential in the long run and often open doors to larger, more ambitious projects. “Every small step is progress,” he stated, “and even if it seems minor at the moment, it’s bringing you closer to your goal.” In his closing remarks, he inspired students by highlighting the immense satisfaction and learning that comes with starting a business. He reminded them that challenges would arise, but resilience and a willingness to learn from failures are what ultimately lead to success.
