On 8.11.2024 a Guest Lecture on "Unlocking Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Tuticorin: Innovation and Career Pathways" was organized by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell and IIC through offline mode in association with Department of Management Studies. The session was handled by Mrs.M.Thanalakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, Francis Xavier Engineering College, Vannarpettai from 09:30 AM to 11:30 AM on 8.11.2024, 54 students and one faculty participated.

The program started with the welcome address and the introduction of the guest speaker. The resource person started her session by asking students to list unmet needs or unmet business opportunities in Tuticorin. She divided students into groups and directed students to brainstorm on this topic. Students listed business opportunities in these locations. And she moved her session by listing few business problems which are not addressed in these locations. Through presenting those problems she highlighted entrepreneurial opportunities in Tuticorin Landscape for the MBA students and encouraged the students to make use of those opportunities. She continued her presentation and gave more insights about the opportunities available in Tuticorin sub urban areas. She further gave opportunities like Tourism, Trekking in these locations.

She continued her session by giving information about the importance and scope of organic farming in China and Iran and Food processing methods and its penetration in Tuticorin. She presented the value of Indian market and Southern part of Tamil Nadu market and how it is being a huge profitable market. The session further continued about the flourishing business in Tuticorin by using local resources. She also presented the recent concept called upcycling products like Bag made of jeans, chair made of Tyre and sofa made of water barrels.

After the tea break she continued her session by listing few challenges faced by entrepreneurs in local market such as Financing, lack of planning, hiring the right labour were explained . She also gave the insights in sustainable opportunities such as upcycling, recycling, organic and green environment. She concluded her session by motivating students to become entrepreneurs and to develop our locality. The session ended with feedback and vote of thanks by Maharaja, student of I MBA.
